Welcome to the History of UK Events section of the Events
Management support site.
The UK has a rich history of events. Many modern day events were
established decades ago, with some claiming a history spanning centuries.
Building on Chapter One of Events
Management, the aim of the History of UK Events is to chart
the historical basis of the UK events industry and provide links
to further sources of information spanning time from establishment
of the event, through to the most recent event.
The History of UK Events is not meant to be a static reference,
rather a developing resource for students, academics and professionals
and the good news is that you can contibute to this project. If
you are aware of further materials available on a particular event,
or events that are not currently included in the timeline, why not
submit these so that they can be included? (click here).
